Have you ever pondered the nature of right and wrong? What defines correctness, and how do we distinguish it from error? Are there definitive boundaries separating the two, or does a murky gray area complicate their demarcation? In our quest for answers, we often find ourselves facing uncertainties that challenge our perspectives and beliefs.
In the tapestry of our daily lives, questions emerge that seem to have clear-cut answers. Yet, there are instances where even our unwavering convictions can lead us astray. Sometimes, it's due to concealed facts, misconceptions, cultural influences, or gaps in our knowledge. It's tempting to rely on our internal understanding of subjects, shaped by experiences or literature, to tackle these queries. Nevertheless, it's crucial to acknowledge that true wisdom is derived from a divine source - God. Rather than relying solely on our insights, we should seek guidance from a higher power.
In the book of Proverbs (14:12-16), ancient wisdom cautions us that human ways may appear right but often fall short of the righteousness endorsed by God, ultimately leading to adverse consequences. To avoid this pitfall, we can adopt a threefold approach. First, we should lean on God's wisdom. Secondly, we can heed the teachings of Jesus as recorded in John 14:26: "But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you." Lastly, we can rely on the Holy Ghost, a concept reinforced by prior scripture.
By entrusting our steps, thoughts, and very essence to the Holy Ghost, we can stride confidently, supported by power and truth. This assurance extends to our words and thoughts, emanating from the core of our being. Within this foundation of trust, the boundaries of right and wrong become clearer. Even if our viewpoints clash with others' opinions, are questioned by our peers, or rejected by those we hold dear, our faith remains unwavering.
The depth of our journey and relationship with Jesus is proportional to the effort we invest and the extent to which we yearn for His presence. The Holy Ghost, a divine guide, stands resolute, ensuring we never lose our way. Even in the face of stumbling blocks, its guidance prevails. A vivid example lies in Matthew 14:27-32, where Jesus beckons Peter to walk on water. Peter's faith propels him to venture forth, yet fear causes him to falter. In this narrative, we witness Jesus' unwavering support as He rescues Peter from the depths. Similarly, the Holy Ghost extends its protective hand to us.
A cornerstone of our journey is surrendering ourselves to the Father and seeking wisdom. James 1:5 affirms, "If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you." The divine wellspring of knowledge remains accessible. By allowing the Holy Ghost to illuminate our path, govern our speech, and steer our thoughts, we liberate ourselves from the constant questioning of right and wrong.
In a world replete with uncertainties, the Holy Ghost stands as our unwavering guide. Its divine wisdom acts as a compass, leading us through the labyrinth of choices and perspectives. The pursuit of what's right becomes less about human constructs and more about aligning with the divine truth. As we tread this path, remember that embracing the Holy Ghost's guidance ensures that the answers we seek are rooted in unwavering power and eternal veracity.
